February 19, 2007 on 4:01 pm | In Worcestershire
The Royal Geographical Society (with The Institute of British Geographers) has awarded an RGS Worcester student its top prize.
James Gurney, who comes from Hallow, left RGS in July 2006 and received the prize for having the best results in OCR’s GCE A Level Geography B paper. James received a cheque for £100 from the Society which he will probably spend on books to assist his Geography studies at Worcester College, Oxford.
In last summer’s external examinations 100% of RGS students sitting Geography achieved A level passes with 51% being at A grade. GCSE results were even better with 88% of passes at A* or A grade.
