RGS 07 U17 relay web.pngAt the recent Worcester & District Under 17 Athletics Championships RGS Worcester achieved a convincing win over six local senior schools. They won the Championship with a marvellous 161 points, beating nearest rival Christopher Whitehead by 93 points.

The only other independent school in the competition, King’s, managed 28 points to bring them in at 5th place.

This was a particularly pleasing win for RGS as many of their students were only in Year 10 yet were competing against pupils from Year 11. Catherine Dowty, 15, won the Shot, Peter Stovanovic,14, the Long Jump and Steve Ndumbe, 15 on the day, the Triple Jump. RGS student Nat McDonald was victorious in both the Shot and Discus, Ben Davis in the 200m and the 4 x 100m Relay team also won.

Final Photo Shoot for RGS Worcester

May 9, 2007 on 11:45 am | In Worcestershire

RGS 07 schphto web.pngThe rain held off and the wind subsided sufficiently for the final school photograph to be taken at a Worcester school today.

It took over an hour for the 717 girls and boys, plus 69 staff, at RGS Worcester to get into position on the terraced staging before their historic last school photograph could be taken.

Headmaster Andy Rattue said “We were absolutely determined to have this photograph taken today as it is the last opportunity we will have to get a whole school shot. We have full school photographs dating back to the beginning of the last century and this historic shot will produce a fantastic finale”.

RGS Worcester merges with The Alice Ottley School from September to form a combined flagship school of around 950 pupils. Pupils will benefit from one, enlarged site utilising all the current buildings on a united site in excess of 20 acres. Planned and new facilities will be introduced to provide one of the best educational facilities in the county.
