Chafyn Grove Pupil awarded GCSE in Greek
September 26, 2007 on 2:31 pm | In Wiltshire
Former Chafyn Grove pupil, Aurelia Hibbert, has passed a GCSE in Greek at the age of 11!
Aurelia, who left Chafyn Grove in July this year, had started to learn Greek from scratch only 2 years ago. She began studying towards a GCSE in January this year and was awarded an A* in Greek after sitting the exam in June. Greek is renowned as one of the most difficult subjects to pass at GCSE and Classics Teacher, Andy Mackay said, “Aurelia is the cleverest pupil I have ever taught”.
Aurelia, who also gained a Scholarship to Canford, is the second pupil to pass a GCSE whilst at Chafyn Grove; Amy Davis-Poynter has previously passed a GCSE in Latin.
