Ann strongly believes that the success and happiness of children is the foundation on which their future is built. At Surbiton High School the success of the girls lies within the support and guidance provided by teachers, who are all well qualified, academically and professionally, enabling their students to achieve results which are outstandingly good.

Seventeen Surbiton High School Sixth Formers have just received news that they have passed their Open University Science courses. For the last three years students in Year 12 at Surbiton have been challenging their thinking and preparing for university study by studying at an undergraduate level.
The girls began the courses once they had finished their AS examinations at the end of the Summer term. The courses demanded a high level of independent study with access only to guidance and resources.
The courses undertaken were Studying Mammals; How the Universe Works; Planets: an Introduction; Molecules; Medicines and Drugs; Chance, Risk and Health. Each course is worth 10 points and is an actual part of a Science degree.
All Surbiton girls achieved passes significantly beyond the pass benchmark. Surbiton High is one of only a handful of schools in the country which offers this opportunity, and stands out as one of the few schools with 100% completion and pass rate.
Commenting on this Ann Haydon, Principal of Surbiton High School said, “I am delighted by the success of these girls and the commitment they have shown towards extending their studies beyond A-Level.”
