Surbiton High School welcomes new Principal, Ann Haydon. Formerly Deputy Headmistress at Guildford High School, she has also taught at Sutton High School and Putney High School. Ann has taken over the leadership of Surbiton High School from Dr Jennifer Longhurst, who retired in December.
Ann, who lives in Wimbledon, graduated in Geography from the University of Surrey, and completed a Post Graduate Certificate of Education at the University of Nottingham. She holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship which she gained from the Institute of Education, University of London. She is also an Independent Schools Inspector.
Ann strongly believes that the success and happiness of children is the foundation on which their future is built. At Surbiton High School the success of the girls lies within the support and guidance provided by teachers, who are all well qualified, academically and professionally, enabling their students to achieve results which are outstandingly good.
Principal, Ann Haydon commented, “I am extremely impressed by Surbiton High School’s focus on the needs of each pupil as an individual and look forward to taking this outstanding school from strength to strength.”
