A group of 32 pupils in Years 9 & 10 from St Clare’s School, Porthcawl, went to the Cwrt-y-Gollen Army Training Camp in Crickhowell last Thursday (10th April).
The children had an army careers talk, after which they were split into three groups where they were taught about survival skills, field craft skills, command tasks, defence skills, team-building skills and physical training. The highlight of the day was where each group had to tackle the 10 foot climbing wall, climbing frame and dismount from the frame via a rope. All thoroughly enjoyed and it was a great day for team building and group unity. A fantastic day all round with children achieving both personally and collectively as a group!
