Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award Challenge
May 12, 2008 on 10:10 am | In Bridgend
Twenty-two Year 11 pupils from St Clare’s School in Porthcawl undertook their 15-mile expedition as part of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award at the weekend. Four groups set off from Nantymoel in glorious sunshine on Saturday morning, carrying everything they would need for the weekend in their rucksacks. They spent the day following their pre-planned routes down the valley to Bryngarw Country Park where they camped overnight. Sunday dawned very wet but spirits remained high. The camp was packed up and the groups set off along footpaths around the Cefn Cribwr area before finishing in Aberkenfig.
Thank you to the staff involved, especially Mrs Lambert, for overseeing the whole weekend, and well done to all pupils on their achievement.
