Julia triumphs and retains South-Wales Region title

St Clares 08 chess web.pngAfter winning the Year 10 Girls Regional ‘Suprema’ title in the British Land plc United Kingdom Schools Chess Challenge last year, Julia Malec returned to Swansea on Saturday 19th April to take the 2008 Year 11 Girls title for St Clare’s School. Our first successful title defence!

Also representing St Clare’s in the Regional Finals (making them amongst the best 12% of the competitions original entrants nationally) were: Alex Burke and James Rowland (Year 13), Omer Khan (Year 11), Owen Skelton (Year 9), Keval Patel & Emily Jones (Year 6) and Sam Mahoney & Mossie Davies (Year 4).
