Caterham School U12 Lacrosse XII are Joint Winners of Surrey Championship

On Thursday 12 March the Under 12 Surrey Lacrosse Tournament was held at St Catherine’s School.

The Caterham School U12A XII was in impressive form. They were undefeated in their pool matches and qualified for a semi-final encounter with Guildford High School. They performed superbly to achieve a rare victory over our old rivals, winning 2-1. In the final, they played St Catherine’s in an evenly fought game. At full time the score was 1-1 and the game went to ‘golden goal’ overtime. After three time periods, a ‘stale-mate’ was declared and both teams were declared joint champions.

The Caterham School U12B XII also played well to finish 3rd in their section.

Headmaster Julian Thomas said: ‘’ This was an excellent performance by the team as they had to play very strong competition. They played with considerable skill and determination. I was particularly pleased that they were able to maintain their focus during extra time.’’
