bromsgrove school worcestershire mock trial

30 pupils from Bromsgrove School were immersed in a Law Experience Day kindly hosted by Harrison Clark LLP last week

Nine trainee solicitors from the Worcestershire firm ran work shops for the pupils on different areas of Law. The students from the Worcester Road School then had to prepare for a mock trial based on a real case with a claimant and defendant.

The School was honoured to have a Mr Jonathan Brew play QC alongside Matthew Jackson as Clerk of Court in wig and gown; the trainee solicitors acted as witnesses.

Miss Zia Leech, Careers Adviser and Head of PSHCE said “the pupils were outstanding, cross-examining the witnesses and summing up splendidly. Routh Hall became a court of Law and the atmosphere was tense as the Judge, based on the evidence heard, found for the defendants after questioning the knowledge of the expert witness. The day was very much appreciated by those students already thinking about a career in Law and for others it was a great introduction”.
