HEROES DAY AT ST RICHARD’S SCHOOL
May 6, 2009 on 2:02 pm | In Herefordshire

No villain or disaster dared strike St Richard’s last Friday as the school was awash with superheroes celebrating ‘Heroes Day’; James Bond, Zorro, Batman, the Tooth Fairy and the intrepid 118 duo all jangled into school bearing loose change for the coin snake, which was created by an uninterrupted line of coins down the drive to the far cattle grid (over a quarter of a mile with change to spare!)
All this was to celebrate a member of staff and our very own hero, who has gone to Afghanistan with the Territorial Army for four months. The brass, silver and gold coins raised a grand total of £484.12 which is destined for ‘Help for Heroes’ – that’s an awful lot of pennies!
